Trail Overview

This trail winds through rocky canyons, old mines and through Area BFE. The scenery includes excellent vistas of the La Sal Mountains and sneak peeks of entry and exit points of some of the most challenging trails in the area. It's a great trail for ATVs and UTVs.

Difficulty

Difficult. No major obstacles but you'll find steep boulder fields that are too tough for most stock, high-clearance SUVs. Narrow, tippy, rocky sections require careful tire placement and off-highway driving experience. You'll want 33" tires and at least one locker. (This rating does not apply if you drive any Area BFE trails.)

we came in from the rim rocker trail and entered on the north end. The first climb was very steep with wash tub size rocks every where. Once we made the top of that we continued on the small portion of the loop which consisted of steep rocky climbs with large rocks and ledge drop offs of up to 4'. once we made it to the large loop the trail became mostly easy and fairly smooth. we exited on the south end onto rim rocker trail for the return trip to Moab. FUN TRAIL!

Wow! This trail is harder than I thought. Ran about 3/4 of the trail and had to turn back because I wasn’t going to make it without serious damage. Running a 24 JLUR with 35’s and locked front and rear. Tons of fun and challenging for my group.

The gate to enter is Area BFE. The sign says you have to pay a park fee and sign a waiver before entering.

Access Description

From the McDonald's on the south side of Moab, take Hwy. 191 south 11.2 miles to unmarked dirt road on left. You'll see a large parking area just south of mile marker 114.
