Trail Overview

This out and back trail goes to the south end of Horseshoe Canyon. There is a hiking trail called "Deadman's Trail" that begins at the end of the offroad trail and continues down to the canyon floor. Horseshoe Canyon is home to a large number of famous Barrier Canyon style pictographs including the "Great Gallery". The trail is fairly primitive and has many washed-out areas, and some semi-steep slick rock climbs.

Trail was not technical, once you leave the graded road it is full of washouts. Nothing my stock tremor struggled with, it was time consuming. We were the first people to sign the log book at deadmans Trail head in almost a month...
