North Fork Coal-BLM638 is a 4-mile point-to-point trail rated 3 of 10 located within the San Rafael Swell north of Interstate 70. This trail starts at the intersection with Fixit Pass (BLM638) and Devil's Race Track (BLM639) on the south end and the intersection of Eva Conover (BLM639) and Bellevue Flats (BLM6768) on the north end. The trail is mostly hard pack dirt with some embedded rock in spots. The trail is wide enough in many spots for two-way traffic. Travelers must stay on the trail and follow the wash as the Cold Wash Wilderness Area is bordered on the west side and the Sid Mountain Wilderness Area is bordered on the east side of this trail. Traveling north on Bellevue Flats will lead to the Bellevue Flats OHV Staging Area which has adequate parking for vehicles with trailers. Following back south on Eva Conover will bring travelers back to the vicinity of Interstate 70. There are several springs within the two wilderness areas that, when flowing, will trickle into Coal Wash. There is no cellphone service in this area. The nearest services can be found in Green River to the east and Emery to the west.

Trail consisting of loose rocks, dirt, and sand with some slickrock surfaces, mud holes possible, no steps higher than 12". 4WD may be required, aggressive tires a plus.
