Trail Overview

This trail is dirt, clay, and gravel ascending and traversing over a mountain providing switchbacks and cliffs. The climb will consist of pitches over 14 percent and rolls over up to 10 percent. The descent will provide ample fun and excitement. This is an out-and-back trail. This is supposed to provide access to Lake Powell, but due to the drought and low water level lake was not obtainable. The trail is well groomed and rated as a class 2.

Difficulty

The ascent and descent with switchbacks allowing cliffs and shelf road provided some white-knuckling. Conditions are dirt and clay would provide slippery conditions. Be aware of weather conditions before starting.

Access Description

The trail is off Highway 95 traveling south a sign for Happy Jack Minerals was posted on the side of the road. The next trail turning to the right will be Blue Notch Road.
