Trail Overview
Branching off into the rugged terrain of Ingram Hollow, Forest Service Road 31129 is a brief but remarkably bumpy 0.88-mile two-track adventure. The trail immediately establishes its character with a consistently rough, rocky red-dirt surface that winds its way up through a vibrant, dense pine forest. As explorers push further along the route, the climb out of the hollow becomes noticeably steeper and more demanding, occasionally requiring navigation around encroaching deadfall and natural forest debris. Drivers must carefully traverse numerous steep, rocky wash crossings that intensely punctuate the track. Due to the increasingly steep topography and the narrow, uneven forested corridor on the upper sections of the trail, there are absolutely no viable options for dispersed camping along this route. The journey officially concludes as a dead-end at the boundary line for Bryce Canyon National Park, requiring a careful out-and-back return trip down the same rocky path.

Difficulty
FS 31129 earns a solid Level 3 Moderate rating primarily due to its persistently rough, rocky tread and the steep, abrupt nature of its wash crossings. Unlike smoother transit roads in the surrounding forest, this two-track is heavily littered with loose cobble and embedded rocks that will continuously test a vehicle's suspension. As the route aggressively climbs out of Ingram Hollow, drivers are forced to dip into and climb out of multiple deep, heavily eroded drainage washes. Because of these sharp elevation transitions and the loose rocky inclines, a high-clearance 4x4 vehicle or a highly capable AWD crossover is strictly required to prevent significant undercarriage damage. Low-clearance passenger vehicles will quickly bottom out and risk getting stranded on this challenging spur.
