The trail is mostly open with a loose sandy makeup. There are multiple steep hill climbs with the occasional embedded rocks to be aware of. The trail does lead into a few sand washes that are rocky as well. A lot of the difficult areas have multiple routes moving forward, so you can choose how difficult you want the trail to be.
