Trail Overview
Salt Fork Creek Section 2 trail follows along the historic fork of the Salt Fork, part of the Red River, that carved the Palo Duro Canyon. One of the most memorable features on this trail is a dry waterfall at the culmination. This is one of the most photographed areas as it gives an amazing backdrop with tons of drama. This section has medium-sized rocks and areas to climb. Multiple lines through this area keep this trail fresh. Taking this trail, you can also access Lonesome Dove and Salt Fork Section 3.

Difficulty
This is a short Creek bed trail that encourages freedom of choice from relatively easy to difficult lines within the creek bed. Many places have 2 or 3 lines defined. The trail can be rather dangerous in the rain. Salt Fork Section 2 has rocks from small to large throughout with sand and and red clay making up the creek bed. Correct tire placement will be important in parts of the creek as it is easy to get hung up on the rocks.
