This Road easily is wide enough for three trucks to drive side by side. Only choke points are the numerous cattle guard that will accommodate a typical vehicle easily. The road conditions were easy and speed was rated to 35 mph. This speed was perfect beings there are no obstacles to catch you off guard. I We drove the whole road in 2 wheel drive without any issues. If you are seeking a 4x4 trail, this will not satisfy your wants. Just a 18 mile dirt road. I would say that if a good storm rolled in and it rained decently, I could see the road getting quite muddy. At that point having 4x on tap would be an insurance policy. once you arrive at Devils River State Natural Area, the trails within could potentially need 4x4s. Definitely would not drive a car back where campsites 6-8 are due to low clearance issues.
