Trail Overview
This road is for street-legal vehicles only. 4WD High Clearance is recommended. The road is non-maintained. This is not a technical drive, but very slow and rough. Lots of pinstriping is to be expected with the overgrowth along this road. There are many sections with small baby head rocks. Traversing from East to West, there is a 23% grade near the West end that makes for a great slow climb. This road has plenty of hills and small canyons to view, and one large valley floor that holds four dry creek beds. Rancherias Loop offers three designated campsites along the way, one being a large group site at the East end.

Difficulty
Rough two-track with very few places to let traffic pass. Leaving the road will cause damage to tires from thorns or rocks. Short incline with loose rock has potential for traction loss.
