Trail Overview

Street Legal, 4WD, High Clearance vehicles only. La Mota Road is an out-and-back road that receives minimal maintenance when needed to keep access to the Leyva Hiking Trailhead open. La Mota offers 4 designated campsites, one is an equestrian site with pens and a large Vault Toilet. Soft sand can cause loss of traction in the dry creek beds, so keep some momentum while crossing.
