Trail Overview
White Tail Peak is five miles of pure fun if you're into technical, muddy messes that push your rig and your patience. This one's rated a 5 on the difficulty scale for good reason -- deep mud holes, abrupt rock shelves, and a few axle-bending surprises tucked into tight, forested switchbacks. You'll climb gradually toward the peak, bouncing through ruts that don't dry out even in August, with a slick limestone base making things feel sketchy fast. This isn't a casual cruise -- it's a legit trail day. Air down, take your time, and run with a buddy if you can. There's a solid reward at the top, though: wide views, cooler temps, and usually not another soul in sight. No formal camp spots, but a couple of rough pads have seen tents and tailgates. Wildlife is heavy up here too -- you might bump mule deer, elk, or even mountain lion sign depending on the season. Not for stock rigs, but if you're built for it, White Tail Peak is a blast. Pack in, pack out, leave no trace, and tread lightly.
