Difficulty

The vast majority of this trail is very easy, however, it can change in a matter of a few months. It can present deep rutting, especially in the spring, and some rocky terrain seems to have been exposed over the winter months, leaving shelves that were previously not there. There are no water crossings, however, you may encounter some deeper puddles in the middle of the trail. The trail mainly consists of dirt (brown and very red) with some rocky patches and a few shelf drops/climbs, but nothing over 12 inches in height. As a result, high-clearance vehicles are recommended.

Nice 7 mile ride between Forest Land and SD Games,Fish and Parks property. Between the last time we drove the trail a few weeks ago and today, the tree canopy is very overgrown and much closer to the vehicle top. When you navigate between Forest and Games, Fish and Parks land you come to a cattle guard...this has become a serious step down due to wash out and erosion. Take your time on this area - definitely need a high clearance vehicle! Great views at the crest of the trail!
