History

Name Change: Tamarack Quarry was originally known as Palmer Quarry.Expansion Project: In 2002, the Forest Service proposed an expansion of the quarry. This proposal involved expanding the existing quarry by approximately 60 acres.Purpose of Expansion: The rock excavated from the expanded quarry was intended for use by the Forest Service and the Oregon Department of Transportation.Environmental Impact Statement: The expansion project required an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). The title of this EIS was officially changed from "Palmer Quarry Expansion" to "Tamarack Quarry Expansion" in May 2002.
