Jeepers Creepers - Trail 260

Trail Overview

Jeepers Creepers is a 1.4-mile out-and-back loop trail located within the OHV park. The route is extremely narrow and steep in places, making it best suited for short-wheelbase vehicles. The trail travels out to a loop, circles around, and returns along the same route; keeping left at the start of the loop leads up the hill climb. Tight trees and limited space can make navigation difficult, particularly for full-size vehicles at the turn near the top of the hill climb. The trail is open year-round; however, Mount Emily Recreation Area guidelines request riders avoid routes where mud is sticking to tires. An Oregon State ATV operating permit is required for all vehicles.

Difficulty

Jeepers Creepers is a challenging trail best suited for short-wheelbase, high-clearance vehicles due to its extremely narrow corridor and steep sections. The primary challenges include tight trees that limit maneuverability and a steep hill climb featuring rock steps with a difficult turn near the top that can be especially problematic for larger vehicles. Weather conditions such as rain or snow can increase difficulty, particularly on the hill climb where traction may be limited. As with most trails in the area, bringing a chainsaw or equipment to clear fallen trees is recommended.
