Trail Overview

The Green Butte summit isn't for a passenger scared of heights or a driver who will buy new tires next week. It's not a technical drive at all. There is only one switchback (if you want to call it that), but the entire trail is pretty vertical and on what could be termed a shelf road. You do not want to lose traction at any point. I recommend four-wheel low, aired down, good all-terrain or mud tires, and a steady medium speed from start to finish. The summit is a tight spot, with two vehicles maximum. If you stay the night, give room for others to turn around. The sunrise is fantastic, and the forest has a unique mystery! Saddle up, Green Butte, it is something worth seeing. Push forward .....Greylander.

Difficulty

The trail is for the most part hard packed dirt, there are a few mild bumps. It is the narrowness of the path and the incline that would be unforgiving. 4 wheel low with aired down tires is your safest route.
