This area has been preserved to protect native grasses, wildlife habitats, and cultural landmarks--offering a glimpse into the landscapes that early settlers once relied upon. The graded gravel road passes through expansive open prairie, where big skies dominate the horizon and miles of open grassland stretch in every direction. Just down the trail, you'll find the Duckett Barn, a historic site offering visitor information and displays about the area's ranching, wildlife, and conservation history. Be sure to close the gate behind you after entering to respect grazing boundaries and preserve access.
