Trail Overview

After a fire, the forest dies, but what is amazing is how quickly it comes back, and the beauty that follows, it's amazing to watch a burned forest turn into a new forest. Enjoy that process on this road, from the thick vegetation growing back to the beautiful flowers, and the views visible through the burned trees, this road is a beauty to see. Please be mindful that this is still a healing forest; the land is delicate, and trees, rocks, and debris often will fall and can block the road. I recommend driving this road on a clear day, the views are beautiful! I was unable to catch the beauty due to smoke. There is little to no cellphone service in this area. If you need reception, the Dairy Queen near Chevron offers wifi, a stop for breakfast, or a full menu all day. Remember to always pack it in and pack it out, tread lightly, and keep our trails open!
