Trail Overview
Long Branch - FS 340C breaks off of Fires Creek Rd in Nantahala National Forest. There is a steep climb at first, becoming more gradual. Waterfalls can be seen from the road. There is little to no cell service here. There is a nice campsite at the horseshoe turn towards the end of the trail that has a fire ring and is creekside. The small stretch to the end after the horseshoe becomes more natural, rutty, and a bit off camber. The end of the trail is only wide enough to turn around in a short-wheelbase vehicle, so you may have to reverse a bit to turn around in a wider spot.

Difficulty
There are some steep areas, but overall should be easy for most high clearance vehicles. The last small stretch is a bit more challenging, but not quite a 3 rating.
