This area of the Chowan Swamp Gamelands is a seasonal trail that is open primarily during deer season. As the name suggests, one can expect to see a great many deer. Care should be taken not to strike deer with your vehicle. A wide array of other animals can be seen as well, including bears. Be mindful of gunshots during hunting season.

The trail system is hard-packed dirt roads, and when dry, can be completed in any vehicle. During rain, the trail can become muddy and may require the use of 4WD.

Great, easy trail with some beautiful views. The eastern part of the loop is re-routed partially but very easy to follow. Trail could be done in a stock Subaru with a tiny bit of attention paid to some of the puddles.

Easy trail to do, my friends and I stayed 2wd the entire time also our truck have street tires and no lift, super fun trail for a beginner and advanced drivers (important notice must of the trail has horse back riding signs) go slow during the day 😀
