Trail Overview
Trail 11 features a shelfy traverse up the mountainside with a mix of small rocks, embedded rock layers, sticks, small roots, and occasional moisture. Multiple flat embedded rock slabs make it more interesting without adding difficulty. The upper loop of the trail is indicated for one-way travel in a clockwise direction and includes more embedded boulders and loose rock, though it remains easy overall. Expect big, wide hairpin corners as the trail switchbacks up and descends back down. The descent is threaded in spots and includes large waterbars. From higher up on the mountain, the trail offers some lovely views of the Nantahala. This is a standalone trail separate from the rest of the trail system, making it a great warm-up loop or fun to add additional mileage at the end of your ride.
