Trail Overview

This route travels through pinon and juniper trees in the lower elevation and ponderosa pine trees and Aspen at the higher elevations. The trail is sandy and rutted in a few spots. There is a nice dispersed camping area with a beautiful overlook on the south side once you climb the ridge. There is room for larger camping rigs as well.

Access Description

Turn west from the south end of FR 533, Blue Bird, and San Diego to approach from the north. To access from the south, turn east from Old Highway 44 on San Miguel Road. At the "Y", stay left. The right path is marked No Trespassing.
