Trail Overview
This trail begins in Cuarteles, New Mexico, and spans numerous desert hills and arroyos. The ride is approximately 10.5 miles and concludes North on the outskirts of Alcalde, NM. The trail can be traveled either North to South or South to North. The trail has beautiful views of the surrounding Jemez Mountains to the West as well as the Sangre de Cristo Mountains to the East. Riders can expect sandy and hilly terrain throughout the entire trail. If beginning in the North section, expect taller hills and ledges, and if starting in the South, expect more sandy arroyos.

Difficulty
There are lots of trails that connect to the main trail and veer off in many directions. First time travelers should monitor the onX Offroad app to ensure they have remained on the main trail. The trail traverses through many arroyos that can be susceptible to flash floods after rainstorms so please monitor the areas weather.
