Trail Overview

Pines North is a short singletrack that is 1.1-miles-long, meandering through a scenic forest environment up and over small rolling hills, full of tall ponderosa pines and white firs. The north end of the trail starts from a couple of dispersed camp sites, accessed off of Summer Pasture Road. The ground is soft dirt, with scattered loose rocks and sticks, and several downed logs that have previously been cut. Watch for roots and loose debris in the trail, but overall, the trail is very approachable with gentle curves through the trees and grassy meadows. There are short climbs that are beginner-friendly, and a few rutted sections, but it looks like this area can get really muddy in wetter months. The trail is easy to follow, and it ends at an intersection with the ATV trail Pines South. Although short, it's a fun trail to explore while camping in the area.
