Trail Overview
Hood Ornament is a relentless climb that tests both driver skill and vehicle capability from the moment your tires leave the trailhead. The route quickly turns upward into a series of steep, unforgiving rock faces that demand careful line choice and steady throttle control. As you gain elevation, the terrain transitions into a scattered boulder field, forcing you to pick your way through uneven, shifting obstacles that can easily throw you off balance. The final challenge and the trail's namesake is the notorious V-notch wedge. This tight, off-camber obstacle requires precise tire placement and commitment. Approach it wrong, and you'll find yourself teetering at an uncomfortable angle, with a very real risk of body damage or worse, earning your rig a brand-new "hood ornament."
