Trail Overview
1000 Mile Canyon Trail is a short ATV trail that starts at a small parking area on Sacramento Canyon Road and connects to Agua Chiquita Road. Note that Sacramento Canyon Road is paved and does not allow OHVs. The trail is a bit trodden out, filled in with loose rocks, with a few embedded rock layers making small stair steps less than a foot tall. It is a steep ascent full of loose rocks and ruts, gaining over 900 feet in elevation over 1.7 miles. It goes through a few open grassy meadows on the south end, but a denser forest as it goes north. The trail had several large trees down, blocking the trail from a recent windstorm (in early spring) that will need to be cut for ATVs to get through; however, it looks like this trail system is generally well-maintained, and any logs will get cleared for the season.

Difficulty
The difficulty rating is based on whether the trail was cleared of the major logs that were present at the time, which is likely, as this trail system is highly maintained and well-trafficked. Overall, it's a moderate trail due to a consistent layer of loose and embedded rocks, some of which create small stair steps. Expect some deep ruts and troughs and steep spots as well.
