West End Washington North is an excellent choice for connecting the Lake Mead National Recreation Area to the Nellis OHV area by dirt. This route features long sandy sections, providing a delightful off-road experience as you navigate the stunning desert landscape. As you travel along this trail, be prepared for sections with deep and frequent washouts, which add an element of challenge and excitement to your ride. You'll also be treated to gorgeous canyon views, showcasing the area's natural beauty. Since the trail primarily consists of sandy terrain, airing down your tires is highly recommended to improve traction and handling. One major highlight of this trail is its proximity to the Muddy Mountains Wilderness, a rugged area featuring captivating limestone cliffs and canyons. Known for its distinctive geological formations, including the "Bowl of Fire" and "Hidden Valley," the wilderness offers a variety of outdoor activities, including hiking, climbing, and wildlife observation.
