Trail Overview

At the intersection with Hemlock Road, take Sand Wash Road westbound towards Pahrump. This trail is comprised mostly of gravel and is relatively level the whole way. It follows Sand Wash through Blackbrush, Joshua Tree Woodland, Creosote Bush, and Mojave Desert Life Zone communities. Keep an eye out for wild horses and burros.

Access Description

From downtown Pahrump head east on E Basin Ave for 2.8 miles then slight left on to Wheeler Pass Rd. Travel NE on Wheeler Pass Rd for 5.5 miles then to left onto an unmarked BLM road. Travel on BLM Rd NE for1.5 miles to the Sand Wash Rd trailhead.
