Trail Overview

Rainbow Gardens and Lava Butte form this loop trail. It is an easy trail suitable for any 4x4 truck or SUV, as well as off road vehicles and mountain bikes. Red, tan and white hills make up the colorful Rainbow Gardens loop while a dark volcanic ridge forms the Lava Butte side. Views of the Las Vegas valley await at the midpoint section of the trail.

Difficulty

Trail is multi-use and easily accessible by stock SUV or pickup. Hard pack dirt road makes up the entire trail.

Enjoyed our time on the trails today. Situated just easy of LV, it's a quick drive to be on the dirt roads. Trails were marked well for the most part. Watching OnX made it easy to make sure we didn't get off the path. 80% easy, a few spots to make it fun!! Will do it again!

Be cautious. It’s not as clean and unkept as others or the app says. It have some areas that are really rough and hard to get through. Stunning trail with amazing views. But has a few areas where you must be in 4wd and send it. If you don’t, it will get stuck. Honestly it’s pretty rough and just takes time and planning to get through it without issues.

80% or trail is clean and easy, other spots are sorta rough and rocky but only in small sections. Cool scenic trail.
