Trail Overview
Crawdad Cove is a delightful offshoot of Boxcar Cove. It offers visitors a fresh and enjoyable experience as it winds down to the low water line with ample access points for enjoying the water. This trail invites you to explore its scenic surroundings, where you'll discover several flat spots and fire rings, but please note that overnight camping is not permitted in this area. The expansive lake views take center stage, providing a picturesque backdrop for your outdoor adventure. However, it's important to remember that there are no pit toilets in this area, so if you're not self-contained, be prepared to manage your needs accordingly. The trail remains easy to navigate up to the very end. However, it may become underwater at high water levels, where it narrows and transitions into sandy conditions, requiring extra care when approaching this section. Important Note: Expect around three bars of LTE service that may fade in and out, so downloading your offline maps in advance is highly advisable to ensure a smooth trip. Always come prepared with ample water and supplies to enhance your experience in the desert.
