Trail Overview
This is a 4.4-mile trail designated for use by small 4x4, 60" SxS, ATVs, and dirt bikes. This route includes FS 8694 and FS 8582. The trail travels through stunning stands of Douglas Fir and provides interesting views of granitic rock formations. The tread itself is quite narrow in some places, and the vegetation is encroaching on the trail in other places. There are several places along this trail that include difficult ruts and rocks that must be carefully navigated. This is a trail for intermediate OHV-skilled riders. It has some of everything: Beautiful scenery, lots of twists and turns and short steep grades, and some technically challenging segments. This road has an unusual seasonal closure scheme. It is closed to small 4x4s and 60" SxS vehicles from October 15 to May 15 of every year. And it is closed to ATVs, dirt bikes, and snowmobiles from December 2 through May 15 of every year.
