Trail Overview

This is an easy dirt trail out to the 7 Mile Bridge. There is a locked gate at the bridge, but one can continue on foot across, and there is a nice dispersed campsite on the other side to the right. The campsite is tucked off in the trees with a view of the river and a nice rock fire ring. The river is excellent for an afternoon dip in the summertime. The trail begins in the pines, with dense forest on both sides. Eventually, it opens up and runs high above the river. The views out of the canyon below are stunning. Lots of neat rock faces can be spotted in the canyon. The most challenging part of this trail is watching out for large potholes. Some of them are wide and sneak up on you. There is sporadic cell coverage. Download offline maps before heading out to this area. There are a few other trails to explore off this one. And a couple of dispersed campsites with fire rings exist but are right on the side of the trail. Rates a 1 because it's accessible by most vehicles. It's wide the entire way with lots of room for vehicles to pass.

Difficulty

Watch for the deep potholes. Some of them are hard to spot and will swallow a tire and could damage the suspension.
