Trail Overview
Tom Lake Trail is accessed from Trail 0216 and follows a narrow route through forested terrain. The surface is mostly smooth, though there are several steep ascents and descents as the trail climbs toward one of the highest points in the area. Water damage is evident in places, and potholes and large puddles can be expected along the way. A number of side trails branch off from the main route, most of which lead to private residences. There are also several snowmobile tracks that intersect the trail, though these are not officially designated routes. The drive is scenic, with dense forest lining much of the trail, but drivers should be mindful of local traffic, particularly on weekends. The trail eventually connects to Hobland Woods Trail, which is a designated ATV route that also provides access to private properties. There are no formal campsites along this trail, and no amenities such as potable water or trash disposal. Cell service may be intermittent or unavailable.
