Trail Overview
Little Isabella Spur B is an unpaved forest trail that starts just off Highway 1 and leads to a designated ski area. The first stretch of the trail ends at a large parking area, primarily used by cross-country skiers accessing the nearby network of ski routes. From there, the trail continues deeper into the forest, winding its way through stands of trees and connecting several of the 18 ski trails in the area. The route is narrow, uneven, and at times overgrown, with a mix of gentle ascents and descents that require attention, especially in wet conditions. Though intended for general vehicle use, off-road drivers should be prepared for a bumpy ride. The trail eventually connects to the Prospectors Trail. Several clearings can be found along the way, some of which may be suitable for dispersed camping. The ski trails are off-limits to ATVs, and a ski pass is required for winter use. Some of the wooden bridges along the ski routes may be closed, and trail access is seasonal. There are no formal campsites or facilities on this route, and visitors should not expect amenities such as toilets, potable water, or waste bins. Cell reception may be patchy or nonexistent. Dispersed camping is typically allowed in the Superior National Forest outside the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.
