Trail Overview

Goodell Road begins as a straight, smooth trail with a well-maintained surface of gravel and sand. It winds through fields and forests, passing a few homesteads. The trail starts off paved Highway 25. For the first stretch, it offers easy driving conditions, but after crossing Road 73, the character of the trail changes. It narrows and begins to wind more through the surrounding forest, though it generally remains in good condition with a mostly smooth surface. As the trail continues, it becomes increasingly tight, with a few sections showing signs of wear, including minor ruts and bumps. WARNING: Within the last mile, a deep sinkhole has formed, posing a real hazard to vehicles, particularly motorcycles and lighter rigs. This feature is likely to worsen with time and should be approached with caution. A few narrow, overgrown trails branch off along the way, offering potential for exploration in small, capable vehicles. The route features some gentle ascents and descents, passing a sign marked "Limited Motorized Use." While it's a peaceful and scenic forest drive, the trail does not provide formal or dispersed camping options, and there are no amenities such as water, trash facilities, or reliable cell service.
