Trail Overview
This trail begins as a single-vehicle-wide gravel track that immediately enters the forest. The route winds gently through the trees, with gradual ascents and descents that make for steady progress without being overly challenging. The surface can be bumpy in places, with potholes scattered along the way, and it is not uncommon to encounter fallen trees across the path that may require trimming to pass. The trail is clearly popular with ATV and side-by-side riders, as evidenced by the numerous tracks along the route, indicating frequent use. Because of this, extra caution is recommended, especially on weekends and holidays when recreational traffic is heavier. The scenery is pleasant, with the trail weaving through dense forest that gives it a remote and sheltered feel. Near the end of the trail, an overgrown ATV path branches off, although it is less traveled. At a corner, the main trail changes names and becomes Forest Road 2996, continuing from there. The trail does not offer dispersed or formal campsites and lacks facilities such as water access and trash disposal. Additionally, cell service may be unreliable in some sections.
