Trail Overview

Haywire Grade ORV Trail is a legal trail for all vehicle types and sizes, from large 4x4s to dirt bikes. The trail follows an old railroad grade and is made up of gravel, surrounded by dense forest. At the southern end, you'll find a bridge that crosses the Indian River and has a small dam. Along the route, you'll find various information boards that provide historical information about the area. There are many of them, so keep an eye out to avoid missing any.

Access Description

Heading westbound on Michigan Highway 94 through Manistique, turn right onto North Houghton Avenue. From there, turn right onto Center Street and then left onto Alger Avenue. Follow this sequence of quick turns: a right onto Intake Park Road, then another quick left onto Riverview Drive. These turns are very close together, so be cautious. Continue until the road splits, with the parking lot located on the right side at your destination.
