Trail Overview
The first mile of trail heading to the overlook consists of a gravel and sand base; low points may get muddy, otherwise passable by most vehicles in 2WD. When approaching the base of the hill, 4x4 and low gear are recommended. There is no room for passing on the hill, and only one point to turn around vehicles with a wheelbase much longer than 120" may have difficulty turning around. The trail permits full-size rigs, except for pinstriping. There are a few side trails that make nice spots for a small camp. Cellular service can be spotty until getting closer to the hilltop. The section of the Trail to the South of the right turn towards the hill is closed. Always check MI DNR/USFS postings for up-to-date trail closure information. Adhere to DNR posted signage.
