Trail Overview

New Virginia Ridge Road is part of the Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway. This trail is rated easy to moderate, with nothing on the trail providing much of a challenge for a stock Jeep or equivalent high clearance 4x4. The majority of the trail is dirt and gravel. There's one area of concern near one of the 180-degree switchbacks where a washed-out bridge is located. There is a bypass around the bridge through the creek, which is the most challenging part of this trail.
