Trail Overview
New Virginia Ridge Road is part of the Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway. This trail is rated easy to moderate, with nothing on the trail providing much of a challenge for a stock Jeep or equivalent high clearance 4x4. The majority of the trail is dirt and gravel. There's one area of concern near one of the 180-degree switchbacks where a washed-out bridge is located. There is a bypass around the bridge through the creek, which is the most challenging part of this trail.

Difficulty
This trail is made most difficult by the bypass to the washed-out bridge. The remainder of the trail is a mixture of gravel, rock, and some deeper water puddles in the roadbed, not exceeding 12 inches with firm bottoms.
