This trail forms a large loop through the trees, offering a scenic and relaxed ride beneath the tree canopy. As you travel along the path, you will encounter a few rutted sections and occasional patches of mud, particularly in lower-lying areas where water tends to settle. However, these spots are generally manageable and do not present any serious challenges. There are no major obstacles making it a suitable trail for stock vehicles and beginner drivers. Overall, it's an enjoyable loop that provides an easy way to explore the forest and connect to other nearby routes.

History

This park was formerly known as Sandy Bottoms, and longtime visitors may still refer to it by that name. The access road and staging area have evolved over time, but it remains a well-known local spot for off-road events and community rides.

Access Description

From Highway K-15 in Mulvane, head toward North 2nd Avenue and turn there, following it for a short distance before turning onto East English Street. Continue until you reach North 1st Avenue and turn left, staying on this road as it leaves the neighborhood and shifts from pavement to gravel. Follow North 1st Avenue straight out of town, crossing the active railroad tracks. Once over the tracks, remain on the gravel lane and continue forward until you reach the main park gate, formerly known as Sandy Bottoms.
