Trail Overview
This is a fun and moderately easy ATV trail in the Caribou National Forest, great for scenic family riding that isn't too technical. From the south end, it climbs up from the trailhead on a semi-steep climb with a couple of moderate switchbacks that are wide and navigable. It gets up to a ridge line, continuing with scenic fast riding through open meadows and ridges, on a mostly smooth and flowy two-track. It has some tight turns through trees and some rockier, steeper climbs over small loose rocks, but no major obstacles or ledges. Riders can expect some looser climbs, big waterbars, shelfy traversing, small wooden bridges over creeks, and some small roots across the trail. In summer 2025, there was a sign indicating that the trail was closed a couple of miles from the official north end of the trail, telling you to turn around at that spot. It was unclear if the sign was from the Forest Service and how old it was, or if it was a temporary closure. The north end doesn't connect to any other ATV trails and would have to be ridden as an out-and-back. It's supposed to access several hiking trails on the north end.
