Trail Overview

This is a great trail that runs along a stream up into the Challis Mountains. Ridden from North to South, it starts off with a shallow stream crossing and features several others along the way. There are some roots here and there, but generally, the trail is very wide and clear. You'll gain a lot of elevation as you head towards the mountain tops. Towards the end of the trail, there are awesome views of a large basin before you end up in a field with intersections of other trails.

Difficulty

This is not a difficult trail. Several stream crossings and some slippery roots, but the trail is very wide and clear otherwise.

The trail starts out very smooth and easy for the 1st mile or so. It then becomes very rooted and rocky. There are several steep hill climbs with embedded boulders/rocks. I feel that the rating of three is rather inaccurate for the average rider. I will say that the reward for any of the difficult terrain is definitely worth it. Absolutely stunning scenery is around every corner. We ran into several trees down crossing the trail on Rocky Creek, but there was a workaround on Them so we did not have to turn back. I would recommend in early season rides that someone in the group have a good Saw.
