Trail Overview

Trail Canyon #5254 is an easy 1.3-mile ATV trail that begins at a signed entrance from the Trail Canyon Motorized Trailhead, a large dirt parking area. Starting at the north end, the trail moves gradually through grassy meadows before climbing into a forested section. The climb includes semi-steep segments with small loose and embedded rock, but the grade is moderate and manageable. A few tight curves weave through the trees before the trail tops out in another open meadow. From there, the route descends gradually with waterbars and scattered loose rock, followed by a final short climb with more waterbars. The trail ends at its intersection with Trail Canyon East #5250, making it easy to combine the two for a short loop near camp. This route also serves as a Nordic trail in the winter, and is closed to motorized use from 1/1 to 4/30, and from 12/1 to 12/31.
