Homestead Creek USFS #216 from Fishhook-Gold Center to Clarkia Marble is an infrequently used gravel route at high elevation on a shelf road through the St. Joe National Forest. The roadway is rocky in sections, with steeper ascents and descents, and can be narrow and windy without places to pass other vehicles. Deer, elk, bear, and grouse are prevalent. There is no cell phone service or bathrooms on this route. There are occasional pullouts where you can camp along the roadway. For current conditions call the St. Joe Ranger District at 208-245-2531.
