Trail Overview

This is a beautiful single-track trail that, when ridden in combination with Fish Creek and Fish Butte Saddle ATV trail, forms a fantastic loop. Fish Butte Trail Starts from either the Middle Butte Road or the Fish Creek Road, depending on the direction you ride. This five-mile trail is mainly composed of skinny granite sand single track. This trail is either climbing or descending the entire length of it, depending on the direction you ride. There are not very many technical features on this trail outside of the occasional log that must be navigated. With a hand saw or a small chainsaw, almost all of the logs can be cut out of the trail. There is one log that is around 1.5-2 feet in diameter, which is only a few hundred yards up from the Fish Creek Road, that is blocking the trail. Other challenges include erosion from rain, and there are a couple of spots on the trail that have a very skinny line between very steep slopes above and below. Other challenges include overgrowth in the form of bushes that can block the view of the trail at times. Nothing too bad, but it required slowing down to not ride off-trail. Generally speaking, this trail is very smooth and not overly challenging of a ride; however, riding off the trail at many points could be disastrous, leading to either impossible recovery of a dirt bike, or at the very least extremely difficult recovery. Fall uphill. In comparison to the Fish Creek trail, it is less challenging but equally consequential to fall off the trail. There is more exposure on this trail for a longer period of time.
