Trail Overview
Chelsey Creek is a 6.4-mile point-to-point trail that breaks off of Big Creek Road into a small valley when starting from the lower east side. Through the valley, the road surface is a mix of dirt and thin silt. As the trail begins to climb, the surface turns to dirt with some smaller rocks. After this change, there are some sections of ruts and water damage, along with some short but steep climbs. Lower clearance vehicles may have some difficulty here, but a stock SUV will be more than capable. There is also some brush encroaching on the trail that will leave pinstripes on wider vehicles. After crossing over a couple of foothills, Chelsey Creek reconnects with Big Creek Road. Chelsey Creek is open year-round.

Difficulty
Riders will encounter water damage and some steep but short climbs. As with all trails in North Idaho, the conditions can vary drastically with snowfall, and always bring a chainsaw or other equipment to clear fallen trees.
