Trail Overview

This route takes you to one of the highest mountains in the Caribou Basin which was mined for gold in the 1900s. There are sweeping views of the valley below including the Blackfoot Mountains and Greys Lake which is in the middle. It starts in Morgan Meadows and ends near the Caribou Mountain Guard Station which is available for rent. Amazing views in the late spring when the trail opens and snow clears until late fall as the foliage is green year-round.

Difficulty

I would rate this between a 4 and 5. There are ruts, roots, and ledges along the way with some larger rock outcroppings.
