Trail Overview
Reids Road is a packed Georgia clay point-to-point road with some sections of crushed gravel for stability. It is a generous one vehicle wide on the northwestern end, narrowing to a typical one lane wide on the southeast end, where it transitions to a two lane paved surface. The trail passes through a section of private land, so be mindful and stay on the trail right-of-way. The trail travels through a heavily wooded and unharvested area of Oconee NF, which gives it a beautiful old forest feel with many large Native oak and hickory trees as well as thick underbrush. During wet weather, some of the red clay sections can be very slick, so don't be tempted to drive fast on the straight sections.
