Trail Overview
Hinson Road appears to be a through trail starting at the paved segment of River Road, but has been gated closed on the southern end as it crosses private property. Access to Hinson Road is via Post Road from the north end, where Hinson Road extends a short distance north before ending at a closed gate. There is an old, somewhat dilapidated game dressing station there also. The bulk of the trail has a packed sand base with crushed rock up until the cutoff to Cogden Lake Road. From there through to the southern end is packed dirt with a few large potholes along the way. There is also a small concrete bridge as a creek crossing. Several short side trails along the length are open for exploration. Hinson Road is entirely within the Penholoway Swamp WMA, and a valid Georgia Hunting or Fishing license is required to access the trail.
