Trail Overview

West Fork is an easy and scenic ATV trail for vehicles 50" or less through the Uncompahgre National Forest near the Silver Jack Reservoir. The east side starts on Cimarron Forks Access Road, past a few nice dispersed campsites. It's a wide and smooth two-track as it heads into the trees. Most of the trail is smooth and easy, through grassy meadows and aspen groves, and between thick pine trees. There are little muddy stream crossings, and you get a great view of the rocky cliffs and ridgelines on the right, as well as the reservoir in the distance. The trail is pretty fast and flowy, with rollers, and small hills up and down. It's pretty gradual the whole way. It follows the Cimarron River until it crosses the intersection with the Cowboy Lake Trail and then heads southwest along the West Fork Cimarron River, paralleling Owl Creek Pass. After about 3 miles, it ends on Owl Creek Pass. You can make a loop back to the start of the road, or go back the way you came.
