Trail Overview

Spalding Park is a short ATV trail through the Uncompahgre National Park in the Owl Creek Pass area. From the north end, it goes through the flat valley below the Old Owl Creek trail, between scrub oak and aspen trees. When riding south, you have an amazing view of the Pinnacle Ridge almost the whole way. The trail stays really easy throughout the whole route, being mostly smooth fast, and flowy two-track between the trees, making gradual curves and going up and over small hills. It goes through a cattle grazing area, so you will likely see cows in the grassy pastures. It crosses a shallow rocky creek that was almost dry in fall but could be deeper water other times of year. This parallels the Old Owl Creek Trail the whole time, so is just an alternate route to take while riding in this area.

Difficulty

This is an easy ATV trail that has gradual hills and some rocky sections. The difficulty could change if the dry rocky creek bed is full of water at other times of the year.
